As professed by my three-weeks late Paris posting, I’m falling behind on my blog updatting.  I will be sure to write about the spectacular trip to Madrid from which I returned last night.

However, in the meantime, I’M GETTING MY LUGGAGE!!!!

I’m not exactly sure on how this all worked out, but from what I can piece together, an extremely altruistic and kind woman name Sylvian  decided to make my day.  I couldn’t understand her very well, but it sounds like Alitalia recently moved into the space that was formerly occupied by another airline.  During the training that she was conducting in luggage storage space, she saw my bags with their bright yellow tags which held my itinerary and contact information.

Luckily, she understood (and was upset by) what has mistified me during this entire process; all it took was for someone to open these tags and the owner of the bags could easily be identified.  Also, she informed me that the bag tags had been removed (why?), which surely was why they couldn’t be found.

To add to the serendipity of the whole situation, my parents are flying into Heathrow tomorrow morning, which is where the bags are.  Because I flew on a different airline than Sylvian works for, getting the bags delievered would be a bit of a problem.  Accordingly, I will meet my parents at Heathrow tomorrow morning and pick up my bags.  As Sylvian said, “You get your family and your bags, all in one day!”
